- Your username: is your STEP membership number (this can be found on any letters you have received from STEP and your STEP membership card)
- Your password: is your surname with a capital letter.
It is important to keep your details up to date in order to receive your STEP Journal and information on your membership, upcoming conferences and other important details.
STEP accepts membership by experience or examination only.
Qualified Practitioner Route
The STEP Qualified Practitioner (Thesis) programme is a route to Full STEP membership for trust and estate practitioners who have established themselves in the field. Applicants join as a Affiliate members of STEP. For details on the pre-requisites and application process, please visit www.step.org/qp.
The STEP Qualified Practitioner programme is for practitioners in the trust and estate field who hold a recognised professional qualification or vocational degree, and five years' post qualification industry experience or ten years' industry experience within the trust and estate field. Applicants must apply to join STEP as a Affiliate member by filling in the qualified practitioner application form. Once approved, three papers of between 4,000 to 5,500 words in length are required to be submitted within a three year period to demonstrate a level of knowledge acceptable to the Society.
