Ms Sim Bock Eng - Partner and Head - Specialist & Private Client Disputes Practice, WongPartnership LLP
SIM Bock Eng is the Head of the Specialist & Private Client Disputes Practice and a Partner in the International Arbitration, Banking & Financial Disputes and Private Wealth Practices. Her main practice areas are in private wealth and civil litigation, which include family, matrimonial law, succession trusts and probate law, banking and finance, property and employment.
Bock Eng has over 20 years of experience in trust, estate and family laws – both front-end as well as litigation. She regularly advises ultra-high-net-worth individuals and families on succession and estate planning and business continuity.
Bock Eng is the current Chairman of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (Singapore) and the course co-ordinator for Probate in Preparatory Course Leading to Part B of the Singapore Bar Examinations. She is recognised as one of the leading probate, trusts and private wealth management lawyers in Singapore and has been involved in several landmark decisions.
|Vice Chairman||Mr Lionel Choi - Managing Director, LGT Bank (Singapore) Ltd
Lionel Choi is Managing Director with the Asia Wealth Planning team of LGT Bank, responsible for assisting clients on all aspects of estate and succession planning.
Prior to joining LGT, he led the Singapore trust company of a reputable global, bank-owned trust business as its resident director and manager. He specialised in establishing and administering trust and fiduciary structures. He was responsible for the operation and supervision of a client relationship team and managing private clients’ estate planning interests. He also took an active role in business development, working closely with professional advisors in Singapore and internationally.
Lionel began a career in law after graduating from the National University of Singapore with an LL.B (Hons) degree. He qualified as an advocate and solicitor in Singapore in 2000, practising in an international law firm. He also qualified as a solicitor in England and Wales in 2003.
Ms Goh Seow Chee - Managing Director, Aequitas Advisory Pte Ltd
Before starting Aequitas, Seow Chee has spent more than 20 years in the tax and financial services industry specializing in tax investigation, trust and family succession planning. In the most recent years, Seow Chee has been sharpening her focus on family office space, supporting Singapore and international clients. Prior to founding her firm, Seow Chee was the Managing Director and Head of Wealth Advisory South East Asia at J P Morgan Private Bank, Singapore. She had previously held senior positions in HSBC Trustee Singapore and Equity Trust Singapore (now known as TMF Group). She started her career with Inland Revenue of Singapore as a tax investigator.
|Secretary||Ms Serene Lim - Senior Manager, TMF Singapore
Serene is a Senior Manager at TMF Singapore working with High Net Worth Individuals (HNWI) assisting them with succession planning structures. She also works with corporate clients in relation to structured finance in Capital Markets.
Serene has 10 years’ experience in the banking industry before entering the trust industry in 2006. She has experience in trust administration, structuring and managing complex trust and company structures.
Prior to joining TMF, Serene was a Resident Manager and Head of Trust for one of a leading independent trust and corporate services provider for 3.5 years. She has previously also worked with HSBC and Merrill Lynch in their trust subsidiaries.
Ms Angela Koh - Head of Wealth Planning and Insurance Advisory, UOB Private Bank
Angela Koh heads up the Wealth Planning and Insurance Advisory Department comprising a team of wealth planners and an in-house team of insurance specialists at UOB Private Bank. She has been advising private bank clients with multi-jurisdictional family members and assets with regards their succession, estate planning and family governance concerns for over 20 years - working at Union Bank of Switzerland, UBS AG, American Express Bank and Standard Chartered Bank prior to joining UOB in 2019.Angela holds a Bachelor of Laws from University of London and is one of the initial members of the Singapore Chapter of STEP before it was converted to a full branch in 2012.
|Committee Member||Mr Ng Teck Wee Keith - Executive Director, Trust Management, Vistra Trust (Singapore) Pte. Limited
Keith began his career in wealth management with a well-known UK bank-owned trust company in 2004. He went on to build his career with Swiss bank-owned trust companies. In the later part of his career, Keith focused on Asian private clients. Keith is cognizant of the Asian private client family cultures and values. Keith continued pursuing his passion serving the high and ultra high net worth private clients across multiple jurisdictions, before joining Vistra in October 2014.Over the years, he has accumulated experience in managing wide spectrum of trusts and other fiduciary structures involving cross-border solutions, restructuring work and contentious matters. Singapore remains the trust jurisdiction Keith is most au fait with. Keith graduated with a Bachelor degree in Commerce from the University of Queensland, Australia, in 2004. Keith completed his diploma in International Trust Management in 2008. Keith subsequently went on to upgrade himself by attaining an Advanced Certificate of Trust Services from Wealth Management Institute, Singapore, in 2010
|Committee Member||Mr John Shoemaker - Attorney, Butler Snow Singapore LLP
John Shoemaker is a licensed U.S. attorney with over 30 years' experience covering US tax and regulatory law and multi-jurisdictional compliance issues. He holds a J.D., LL.M. in Taxation and TEP designation. His current practice with Butler Snow Singapore LLP focuses on assisting international families in handling US tax issues. He also advises on FATCA & CRS compliance as well as multi-jurisdictional coordinative assistance. Previously John worked for UBS as Global Head of Product Management for Trusts & Foundations.
|Committee Member||Ms Annette Sui - Managing Director, Head of Trust, BOS Trustee Ltd
Appointed as Managing Director and Head of Trust, Annette oversees the trust business in Singapore.
Annette joins BOS Trustee with 25 years of experience. From 1993 to 2004, she worked at Ernst & Young, heading a team in the audit and assurance business, servicing multinational corporations, public companies in Singapore, as well as trust, estates and charitable organizations. She then joined HSBC Trustee, where she headed the Singapore trust company.
Annette identifies, develops and directs the implementation of wealth strategies for the business. A veteran with over 20 years of experience, Annette established strong contact with the ultra-high net worth clients, working closely with their families and professional intermediaries on trust and related wealth management issues. She plays an instrumental role in building and profiling the trust business in the region as the preferred and highly regarded provider of wealth protection solutions to the ultra-high net worth families.
Annette holds a Master of Business Administrative and is a Chartered Accountant. She is also a certified TEP (Trust and Estate Practitioner).
Mr Derek Too - Director, UBS AG
Derek has over the last 10 years worked with high net worth individuals and families on their succession and wealth structuring plans.
His main area of focus is setting up structures to hold the financial and other private assets of clients with the view of meeting their wealth transference objectives in the form of trusts, corporate structures, funds or a combination of these. Having dealt with a diverse range of clients, he has had the opportunity to work with many unique family situations and as a result, conceptualised solutions to varying needs.
He holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) degree, Bachelor of Laws and a Master of Laws from the University of Melbourne.
