Pre-AGM Seminar: Trusting The Happy Ever After (26 June 2024, 3-4.45pm)
Wednesday 26 June 2024, 15:00 - 16:45

Seminar Synopsis

Happy ever after…. This is a common hyperbolic fairy tale ending. However, is this always the case? According to the Singapore Department of Statistics, a total of 7,107 marriages ended in a divorce or an annulment in 2022. Between 2018 and 2022, the annual average number of marital dissolutions was 7,385. Divorce settlements can be a painful, prolonged process and in some cases take years to settle. With rising affluence and awareness, more parents are enquiring about whether prenuptial agreements can help to ringfence family wealth in the event of a divorce. What is the efficacy of a prenuptial agreement in the Singapore context and are there any other alternative options?

The seminar will be followed by the STEP (Singapore) AGM. This seminar is complimentary for STEP members who stay on to attend the AGM.
